Hiren is an American board certified emergency medicine physician. He currently practices Emergency Medicine at University Health Network. He was recently (from 2017-2020) the Director of Global Health Fellowship and the Senior Advisor for the Division of Global Health and Human Rights at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. He is on various International Emergency Medicine boards, is a reviewer for three International Emergency Medicine journals and has had several publications focusing on emergency care capacity building in low resource settings. In addition, he is the co-founder of BECCIA (Building Emergency Care Capacity in Africa), the Program Director at BostonMD (a traveling concierge practice) and the Co-Medical Director for Lynn Urgent Care LLC.
Hiren holds a BS from McMaster University, a MD from Manipal University, and an MPH from the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health.
